The Little Things That Stay…
Sometimes, I think memories are not really separate things. A person can remind me of a memory. That memory can remind me of a place. And that place can bring back an entire moment. Everything becomes connected. A person, a place, a word, a feeling, a story. Sometimes, one small thing is enough to bring everything back. I think the little things can leave a bigger mark than we expect. A certain tone of voice. A certain way of speaking. A lack of interest. A small act of disrespect. A little bit of neglect. Things that may look very small from the outside can leave a very big effect inside. And when those little things keep happening without being expressed, they don’t always stay little. They accumulate. And eventually, they become something much bigger. Maybe that’s why I believe that what happens to us doesn’t disappear just because we don’t talk about it.
